WHO WE ARE

Ruiz & Company was founded in 2014 on a simple but powerful conviction: that nonprofits doing important work deserve a fundraising partner who is genuinely invested in their success, not one who processes them like an account, hands them a template, and moves on.


We are deliberately small. We work with a select number of clients at a time, and when we engage, we are fully present, in your meetings, in your culture, in your donor relationships. We tell you the truth. We stay until the work is done. We leave your team stronger than when we arrived.


That is not a pitch. It is simply how we work - and it is why nearly every client we have ever served has come to us through a referral from someone who experienced it firsthand.

Embedded, not external

We attend your meetings, know your donors, and take things off your plate. Not a vendor on your list.

Honest above all

We tell you what you need to hear, not what you want to hear. Always.

Select clients, by design

We intentionally limit our roster. Volume is the enemy of the embedded approach.

Years of fundraising
leadership

Wendy Ruiz founded Ruiz & Company in 2014 after a 25-year career leading fundraising for large national organizations and growing regional nonprofits across Texas. Her final staff role was Chief Development Officer, a position that gave her a deep understanding of what nonprofit leaders actually need, and what they rarely get.

 


She has also served on boards, which means she understands governance from both sides of the table, the responsibilities, the relationships, and the moments when clarity and courage are needed most.

She built this practice on one conviction: that nonprofits deserve a partner who has lived their reality, will work alongside them as a true team member, and will tell them the truth — even when it is hard to hear.
